Isola 2000 is the winter sports resort of the commune of Isola, on which it depends. It is located in the Mercantour massif, close to the Mercantour national park and three kilometres from the French-Italian border, accessible via the Lombarde pass. IIsola 2000 is so called because of its average altitude of 2000 metres. The resort of Isola 2000 benefits from a particularly exceptional snowfall at this latitude due to the combination of its ferruginous geology and the evaporation masses of the Gulf of Genoa, thus creating a snowy rainfall due to its high altitude. The resort benefits from exceptional sunshine all year round, even if temperatures can be particularly low in winter.

The resort is located at 2000m and can be accessed by chairlift to an altitude of 2603m. It has 22 lifts including a funicular, 2 gondolas, 7 chairlifts and 10 drag lifts to serve 43 runs (7 green, 21 blue, 12 red, 3 black) for 120 km of runs. New facilities have been built for new snow sports: it also has a snowpark, half-pipe, boardercross and modules.
